Numeracy

Mental calculation (addition and subtraction); pencil and paper procedures – addition; capacity; symmetry, movement and angles; understanding multiplication and division, including mental calculations; fractions; time; Venn and Carroll Diagrams.  Problem solving.

Literacy

Fiction: - adventure and mystery stories; humorous poetry; poetry that plays with language – word puzzles, puns and riddles.

Non-fiction: - letter writing and alphabet texts.

Grammar and punctuation: - pronouns, conjunctions, commas and speech marks.

PE is on Friday and Wednesday: shorts, T-shirts and trainers should be in school on these days.  Tennis on a Tuesday for the first half term.

All children should read for 15 minutes per day.
