16 Jul 2008 - A New Vision for New Scotland Hill Primary School

Dear Parents,

It is my intention to launch the new school year in September with a new vision for New   Scotland   Hill   Primary School . With the help of everyone involved in our school we hope to find a vision statement which encompasses the core values of the school and what we are aiming for. I will be working with the staff and governors to achieve this during an inset day in September.

Vital to this is what you the parents think and what our pupils think. Today in assembly I have explained to the pupils that I would like them to draw me a picture of what a school looks like when it is the best it can possibly be. It can be one picture or made up of a group of smaller pictures or in cartoon form. Alongside the pictures I have asked them to write some notes explaining what their pictures are showing. If you have a younger child please would you talk to them about their picture and write the notes for them. The picture can be done in any medium but please try to stick to the A3 size.

I invite parents also to present their ideas as a picture with notes but if artwork/drawing really isn’t your ‘thing’ your ideas in writing would be fantastic. We are a ‘good’ school as judged by Ofsted and we are aiming to be an outstanding school. What does an outstanding school look like for you? What are the key elements you are expecting?

From all of this work we hope will emerge key words and phrases that will capture for us the unique vision of New   Scotland   Hill   School of the future.

Please have all vision pictures in by the end of term.

Thank you for your support,

Yours sincerely,

Mrs Pat Kerton
