17 Jan 2005 - Library Information

Dear parents,

Next week will see the official re-opening of our library and pupils will again be able to borrow library books to take home regularly. All pupils will be allocated a barcode so that we can keep a check on who has which book and when they borrowed them. Children will be able to borrow up to 2 books (fiction or non fiction) for a maximum of 2 weeks. They can renew their books as often as they like. Library exchange will be open to all children on Monday and Thursday lunch-time between 12.45 and 1.15. Also the library will be timetabled to enable all classes to have the use of the library facilities every week. Pupils will be carrying out research in the library at these times as well as changing their books.

The timetable is as follows:

Nursery Monday 10 a.m. and 1.15 p.m.
Pine Class Tuesday & Thursday 1.15 p.m.
Year 1 Wednesday 1.15 p.m.
Year 2 Friday 2 p.m.
Year 3 Thursday 2 p.m.
Year 4 Tuesday 2 p.m.
Year 5 Monday 2 p.m.
Year 6 Wednesday 2.30 p.m. & Friday 1.30 p.m.

Monday and Thursday 12.45 - 1.15 p.m. any pupils

Please help your children to remember to bring their books back on the appropriate days. Reminders will be sent for missing books and we will be requesting a £5 contribution towards any books lost or damaged. Please make sure your child has a book bag or an appropriate bag to transport the book safely to and from school.

We have been very fortunate in our team of parents, teachers and teaching assistants who have worked so hard on the library, it has been an incredible amount of work and we are very grateful to all the volunteers who have done so much to help.

I hope the children will appreciate the effort that has gone into our library development and will help us to keep the books well maintained and the borrowing system working effectively.

Yours sincerely,

Linda Northover
