8 Oct 2007 - Cookery, Vouchers, Off-Site Events & Half-Term
Dear Parents and Carers
School Photographer
The school photographer will be visiting the school this Wednesday, 10th October, to take individual portraits of pupil. Proofs of photographs will be sent out in the normal manner.
Dogs
Concerns have been raised over dogs being left tied to the school fence whilst parents go into the playground with children at the start and end of the school day. There have been incidences of small children being frightened of dogs barking whilst left unattended. Please may I ask you not to leave your dogs unattended outside the school premises. If you choose to bring your dog with you when walking with children to or from school please stay with your dog at the perimeter of the school grounds and let your children leave or meet you here. Thank you for your co-operation.
Off-site Competitions and Sporting Events
We do endeavour to provide children in the upper school with opportunities to participate in off-site competitions and sporting events as we believe this promotes good sportsmanship, increases the children's understanding of different communities and develops pride in belonging to the school. However, for these events to continue we have to rely on parents transporting the children to and from venues as providing transport from companies is too expensive.
Cookery Voluntary Contributions
Cookery sessions for pupils are now underway. I have sampled some delicious ratatouille using some home grown produce from the school allotment! If you have not yet sent in a voluntary contribution (£2 per pupil) towards the cost of cooking ingredients please would you do so by half-term.
Vouchers
The school is currently collecting Tesco Sports Vouchers and Nestle Box Tops. Collection boxes are sited in the Library and school reception area.
Half-term
The school will be closed from Monday 22nd to Friday 26th October for the autumn half-term holiday.
Yours sincerely
