11 Jan 2008 - Maple Newsletter Spring Term 2008
Dear Parents,
Happy New Year and welcome back to all the nursery children, with a special Hello to those joining us for the first time. This term we will be using the theme of ‘People Who Help Us’ to introduce your children to different areas of learning: This includes becoming more aware of people who are helpful and how to be helpful, experience handling different materials, asking questions, investigating, exploring and enjoying rhymes, stories and talking.
The theme will cover people who help us at home, at school, to keep safe and to be healthy. Our role-play area this term will incorporate an emergency centre. Encourage your children to be involved in the topic by pointing out those people who help us in the community – policemen, dustmen, shop assistants, doctors and firemen etc. Later in the term we will be joined by a graduate trainee student, Tim Clarke, we look forward to welcoming him to the nursery.
We will continue to have a weekly sound and letter table. The sounds and actions for the term are attached to this newsletter.
Meanwhile don’t forget the parent’s board for weekly updates on the topic and how it is progressing.
Many Thanks
The Nursery Staff
