WELCOME TO OUR SCHOOL

Tudor House Visit

On Wednesday 25th May, Year 4 went to a Tudor workshop at Eagle House School. First we had to put on tabards and meet a man who was dressed up as a Tudor. He showed us a DVD about how the Tudor house was made. Then after we watched the DVD we had some juice and biscuits and then split up into two groups. The first group went to the Tudor house to find out about how it was made and what they did in the house. The house was made out of thatch, straw and daub. In the inside of the house was a little kitchen and a table which kept all the food on it. There was also a fire and a pot which kept all the food hot. We also got taught how to made butter and cheese and also tried some food. The second group pretended to be actors. They went with the man and he told them a story about Hamlet. But first he told them about the Golbe Theatre and where the best seats were and who normally performed there. The best seat was right next to the stage because you could hear everything and you could see everybody. The writer of most of the play was William Shakespeare. Then the man told them the story about Hamlet, who saw a ghost which was his father, who Claudias murdered. Hamlet killed Claudias, but died soon afterwards.
Year 4 said it was really good and really enjoyed it.
